Art Making
I work at the intersection of the natural and built environments seeking the foraged and found. My practice spans mixed media collage, decorative bird sculpture, and hanging mobiles assembled from pressed botanicals, recycled materials, and found objects: bluestem and yellow foxtail, dried ginkgo and rye, spent shotgun shells and junk mail, driftwood and feathers, and endless bottle caps. Each piece is made in relationship to a particular place and season, a conversation between me and what I see: from my yard to a creek bank, the recycling bin to the preserve.
